Glasshaus

Narrow splendour

A narrow site with length allowed this home to be elongated in shape with small pockets of external open spaces within areas of the home.

The building sits within a heritage area, the façade incorporates a large bayed window form with painted timber detailing throughout and a simple pitched roof. The secluded front entry opens to a light filled area that looks into a central courtyard , opposite this is a curved battened wall that leads your eyes to the rear living spaces and pool beyond. The vertical glazing form in the entry lightwell continues through to the staircase glazing that is full height over two levels allowing light and giving volume to the space. The kitchen accommodates the dining table as part of the island bench , the kitchen also accommodates a butlers pantry that has an outlook to the open entry lightwell area.

The outdoor spaces are light and airy, with some decked and paved areas throughout. Although not noticeable from the front façade there is a two story form that accommodates the master suite, dressing area and ensuite. My clients are thrilled with the design of the home that is light filled, simple and functional with soft interior detailing throughout.
